The two houses were built for the families of Mr. Cao Khanh Hoa (74 years old, Truong Thinh commune, Ung Hoa district) and Mr. Pham Van Vu (82 years old, Kim Duong commune, Ung Hoa district). Both families are victims of Agent Orange and are currently living in difficult conditions. Each house is supported with a support level of 3,000 USD (about 78 million VND).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Chang Ho Ick, Chairman of VESAMO, said that the Association was established in 2002 by Koreans who have special feelings for Vietnam with the desire to connect and promote friendship between the people of the two countries.
“About 10 years ago, when we came to Vietnam, we witnessed the difficult circumstances of many Agent Orange victims, and from there decided to focus on supporting this group. Since 2017, we have concretized our activities through programs to build Charity Houses. To date, 7 houses have been implemented. Although the number is small and resources are limited, we hope that this model will spread, contributing to raising social awareness in Korea and internationally about the pain that Agent Orange victims in Vietnam are suffering.”

Mr. Chang expressed his wish to continue to coordinate with Vietnamese agencies and organizations to expand activities in the coming time, and hoped that today's support would bring warmth, trust and motivation to the victims' families.
Expressing deep gratitude for VESAMO's actions, Mr. Pham Xuan Hung, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, said that although the war has ended 50 years ago, the consequences of Agent Orange are still very severe, directly affecting millions of people.
“Hundreds of thousands of people have died, hundreds of thousands of others are living with the disease, their children continue to suffer the consequences. The practical activities that VESAMO is carrying out are very meaningful, both materially and spiritually,” he emphasized.

Households receiving support in this period expressed their emotions at the concern from Korean friends. Mr. Trinh Van Phu, a veteran and Agent Orange victim in Ngoc Hoa commune, Chuong My district, expressed his gratitude to VESAMO and hoped that the Association would continue to accompany the Association at all levels to spread support to more families, contributing to improving the livelihoods and living conditions of Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam.
