For the third consecutive day, Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries have launched attacks on the Russian border. The Ukrainian attacks were accompanied by shelling of civilian areas, including the city of Belgorod.
The main fighting took place near the village of Spodaryushino in the Belgorod region. In this direction, Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses in equipment and manpower, including valuable foreign tanks and mine-clearing vehicles, over the past two days.
The second main direction of Ukrainian attack was the village of Kozinka in the Belgorod region. In response to Ukrainian attacks, the Russian army also responded fiercely.
At the front, fighting continued fiercely. According to preliminary reports from the front, on the evening of March 14, a group of Ukrainian troops landed from helicopters south of Kozinka. The helicopters flew at extremely low altitudes to avoid Russian air defenses. The landing group tried to gain a foothold and waited for the approach of ground forces.
According to SF, Russian forces are believed to have repelled the ground attack and blocked Ukrainian efforts to send reinforcements across the border. As a result, Ukrainian landing forces were repelled.
Reports of a Ukrainian landing have yet to be confirmed by any official statements or images.
Also according to unconfirmed reports, the Ukrainian military lost more than 560 combat aircraft and more than 20 units of military equipment in the past day.
During the operation on the Russian border, the Ukrainian military is trying to use aircraft that take off from the Kharkiv airport. Several Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters are constantly operating at the airport. A French-made Super Puma helicopter was also spotted there. Ukrainian aircraft are mainly involved in evacuating wounded militants from the border area.
According to SF, despite all efforts and a large number of forces and means involved, the Ukrainian military positions remained in the same place as before the attack, that is, outside the Russian border.
