On January 23, comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the Conference to commend and award students who won prizes at the National High School Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year. Also attending were comrades: Vi Ngoc Bich, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the report of the Departmentof Education and Training, in the national excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Ninh had 88 students winning prizes (accounting for 80% of the students taking the exam), an increase of 3 prizes compared to the previous school year and the highest in the history of Quang Ninh education sector to date. Specifically, there were 2 first prizes, 27 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and 29 consolation prizes. Of which, 5 students were admitted to the second round to compete in forming regional and international Olympic teams in 2025... With this result, Quang Ninh ranked 2nd in the Red River Delta region and 8th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
Speaking to congratulate teachers and students of the Education and Training sector, comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the teaching and learning spirit of teachers and students of the teams and the appropriate and effective solutions to continuously improve the quality of education in schools.
Among the outstanding achievements of Quang Ninh in 2024, the Education and Training sector has contributed outstanding results and remarkable progress, affirming the correctness of political decisions as well as the province's persistent efforts for education and training.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee especially commended and praised the students for their great efforts, with intelligence, perseverance, will and determination, to achieve excellent results in the National Excellent Student Competition.
He hoped that the students would continue to develop and strive to achieve many high achievements in the future; at the same time, they would know how to care and help their friends, compete and progress together. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the team of teachers and staff of the industry who have devoted themselves to their beloved students, taught and nurtured many generations of talented students - extremely valuable resources of the family and society, the future owners who inherit and promote the most worthy tradition of construction and development of the Mining Region.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, the Quang Ninh Education and Training sector continue to strongly and comprehensively innovate teaching methods and management work to continuously improve the quality of comprehensive and key education; focus on moral education and lifestyle for students based on the cultural foundation and criteria set forth in Resolution 17/NQ-TU dated October 30, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee on building and promoting cultural values, human strength of Quang Ninh to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development, to have people who are "both red and specialized", proactively promoting their capacity and qualities.
In addition, the sector needs to continue to build and improve the quality of teachers and educational managers; promote activities to encourage learning and talent, build a learning society; coordinate with departments, branches, sectors and social organizations, and businesses to join hands to support schools in ensuring facilities and equipment, creating conditions for creativity, encouraging talent development; build the best environment for students to study and practice so that education truly becomes a top national policy.
