The border in April is as hot as fire. The patrol route through the mountains and hills is even more difficult. The young soldiers of Muong Muon Border Post ( Dien Bien Province Border Guard Command) still hold their guns firmly and march steadily.

Muong Muon Border Post is the only border post in Muong Cha district (Dien Bien province), one of the key posts managing three communes including Muong Muon, Na Sang, and Ma Thi Ho.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Duc Tuan - Head of Muong Muon Border Guard Station - said that at this time, in addition to the task of managing, protecting territorial sovereignty and maintaining security and order at the border, the unit also coordinates with other forces to carry out tasks towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

In which, a plan is developed to coordinate with the police and militia forces in the area to strengthen control of key areas, especially areas with religious activities that have not been recognized by the State, with many subjects subject to special management, and to grasp the situation of drug crimes and illegal possession of weapons.

In particular, strengthen protection work, organize border patrols and border markers, step up patrols and controls on main roads, and strictly manage the number of people and vehicles entering the border area.

Participating in the border patrol mission, Lieutenant Lo Van Dong (administrative staff team leader) shared that due to the hot weather, some soldiers on patrol suffered from heatstroke. The unit assigned medical staff to accompany them to promptly handle the situation and ensure safety.

"The task of protecting the border is the specialized task of the border guards. We are determined to fulfill the assigned tasks well" - Lieutenant Dong shared.

As a Mong born and raised in Muong Cha, participating in the border patrol mission, soldier Sung A Cau (20 years old, in Muong Cha district) said the mission was not difficult, because his feet were already familiar with every path and every high mountain in this land.

"I am very proud to carry out my mission on the special occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and will try my best to serve the Fatherland and fulfill the mission of a young man," said Mr. Cau.
