Clinical practice is an important transition from theoretical knowledge to practical professional competence - which is especially necessary in the field of Nutrition. At Quang Nam Central General Hospital, the training model integrating treatment and practice is being effectively implemented, becoming a reliable destination for third-year and final-year students from Dong A University, Da Nang.
In recent times, the hospital has been applying simple, easy-to-implement methods to assess and intervene in nutrition, individualizing each meal for inpatients, especially in special specialties such as Emergency Resuscitation, Endocrinology, Oncology, Cardiology, etc.
MSc. Dang Thi Hoang Khue - Head of the Department of Nutrition, Quang Nam Central General Hospital, said that in an era when chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are increasingly common, clinical nutrition is not simply support, but an inseparable part of the treatment regimen.
Students' direct involvement in this real-world work environment not only helps them gain experience but also improves their ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary manner, an important skill in holistic care.
Dr. Vu Thi Bac Ha - Head of the Department of Nutrition, Dong A University, Da Nang, shared: "With the strong development of the health care and nutrition industry, final year students are able to participate in clinical practice at hospitals, creating great opportunities after graduation in working environments such as hospitals, medical centers, non-governmental organizations or food processing facilities".

Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen (class NT20A1A, Dong A University, Da Nang) is a final year student majoring in Nutrition. She said that studying and practicing at Quang Nam Central General Hospital is an extremely valuable experience.
“I was enthusiastically guided by my teachers and exposed to many specific medical situations, thereby understanding the key role of nutrition in disease treatment. The lessons here are not only practical but also inspire me to pursue my chosen career,” said Thu Huyen.

The cooperation program between Quang Nam Central General Hospital and universities training in Nutrition is a strategic step in improving the quality of medical human resources, contributing to building a comprehensive, modern and sustainable health care system. This is also a clear demonstration of the orientation of in-depth development and expanding the role of clinical nutrition in modern medicine.
