According to a VNA reporter in Prague, in a solemn and artistic space at the Imperial Citadel Event Center in Prague, on the evening of June 26, the special art program "Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture" staged and performed by the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Dance Theater officially opened.
The event marks the beginning of a series of key activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic (1950–2025).
As a highlight of this year’s cultural diplomacy journey, the program is not only an art performance, but also a bridge between two cultures, between tradition and modernity, between the past and the future. From there, it contributes to honoring the deep and lasting friendship between the two countries that has lasted for three quarters of a century.
With meticulous investment in both content and artistic expression, “Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture” has brought Czech audiences, the international community and overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic on an emotional artistic journey, discovering the rich beauty of Vietnam - from the magnificent natural landscapes, the depth of a thousand years of history, to the cultural diversity of 54 ethnic groups living together in the S-shaped country.
National sounds are honored through traditional musical instruments such as the monochord, the two-stringed fiddle, the t'rung, the bamboo flute, the pipa... Combined with a modern staging style and sophisticated orchestration, the program creates a harmony between national soul and contemporary breath.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam affirmed that “2025 will be a historic milestone in bilateral relations when Vietnam and the Czech Republic celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and officially upgrade to Strategic Partnership. This is an important step, demonstrating the depth of the strong relationship based on the cultural foundation, trust and affection between the two peoples.”
The Ambassador also expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, with more than 100,000 people - the "cultural ambassadors" who have persistently contributed to preserving Vietnamese identity and enriching the Vietnam-Czech friendship through many generations.
Representing the host country, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic David Kašpar expressed his emotion and pride that Czech culture - from music , literature, cinema - has a place in the hearts of Vietnamese friends.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that programs such as the art program "Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture" are vivid proof of the exchange, understanding and mutual respect between the two cultures.
Sharing the same sentiment, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, Mr. Ho An Phong, highly appreciated the significance of the event: “Today’s program is a magical intersection of artistic souls. The melodious sound of the Vietnamese monochord blends with the classical melody of Europe, creating a symphony of friendship, where art transcends geographical and linguistic boundaries to touch people’s hearts.”
Not just a single performance, “Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture” is an important part of the framework of Vietnam Culture - Tourism Days in the Czech Republic.
The series of events including cultural exhibitions, tourism promotion, community exchanges... not only contribute to strengthening the relationship between the people of the two countries, but also open up new prospects for cooperation in the fields of culture, arts and tourism in the period of deep integration./.
