Promoting cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Busan city (Korea)

On the morning of July 4, at Busan City Hall, Vietnamese Consul General in Busan Doan Phuong Lan visited Busan Mayor Park Heong Joon.

At the meeting, Busan Mayor Park Heong Joon highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government's establishment of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan and said that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan will be a very important diplomatic representative agency with many practical activities. Mayor Park Heong Joon expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Vietnamese Consulate General will closely coordinate with the Busan City government to promote and strengthen cooperation between Busan City and Vietnamese localities, especially in 2025 when Busan City and Ho Chi Minh City celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing friendly cooperative relations; affirmed that he will actively support the Vietnamese Consulate General to perform its tasks well.

Mayor Park Heong Joon highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Busan for their practical contributions to the city's development in recent times; expressed his impression of the diligence and hard work of the Vietnamese people and said that the Mayor personally has special feelings for Vietnam.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan shared that Vietnam is entering a new era, with strong reform policies to expand development space through breakthroughs in science and technology and innovation, developing the private economy and promoting deep international integration.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan affirmed that she will strive to promote cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City, as well as other localities in Vietnam with similar potential and development orientation to Busan city; Hoping that Mayor Park Heong Joon's visit to Ho Chi Minh City in September will create momentum for cooperation between the two cities, especially after Ho Chi Minh City completes the merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan suggested that the Busan city government continue to pay attention and develop support policies so that the Vietnamese community in Busan can actively integrate with the host country, rise up and contribute to Busan's journey to becoming a Global Hub City.
