At the football field, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife were presented with a set of Vasco da Gama jerseys by the Club's representative, and also presented the Club with a set of Hanoi Football Club jerseys.
After more than 100 years of development (founded in 1898) named after the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama, and originally a rowing club, Vasco da Gama has developed more sports such as basketball, swimming, especially football.

Vasco da Gama officially entered the football field in 1915 and is one of the football teams with a long tradition, rich achievements, and the largest number of fans in Brazil and South America.
To date, Vasco da Gama has won 65 titles, including 4 Brazilian championships, 1 Brazilian Cup, and more than 20 Carioca titles. In the international arena, Vasco da Gama won the World Cup Libertadores da América, the South American Club Championship, and was runner-up in the Club World Cup.
Vasco da Gama is home to many world-famous players such as: Roberto Dinamite, Edmundo, Romário, Juninho Pernambucano, Bebeto, Mauro Galvão. Romário helped Brazil win the 1994 World Cup and was one of the best strikers in the world in the 1990s.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that many Brazilian players have joined Vietnamese clubs, helping these clubs compete successfully, with some clubs winning championships.
Noting that Vietnamese people are passionate about football and admire Brazilian football - with "Samba dance on the field", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the potential for cooperation in culture, sports, especially high-performance sports, including football between Vietnam and Brazil is limitless.
The Prime Minister suggested that Brazil and Vasco da Gama Club increase cooperation activities and support Vietnam in developing football, such as training and educating players, especially improving players' physical strength and skills, improving management capacity, developing brands, mobilizing and managing resources, organizing competitions, as well as continuing to "export" Brazilian players to Vietnam and Vietnamese players to Brazil.../.
