Divers cleaning up trash at the bottom of the ocean accidentally found a giant treasure

A group of amateur divers at the pier in Wellington Harbor, New Zealand have formed an environmental “rescue” team around this area. Every week, they will clear trash and bring waste from the seabed to the surface to clean the harbor floor.

During a trash-cleaning dive, a group of volunteer divers accidentally found a huge “treasure”. Unlike usual times when they only found bottles, scrap metal, rags…, today the divers found 868 ancient coins.

The value of these coins is still unknown. The divers plan to sell them and use all the proceeds to support the group's activities.
