Electronic medical record appraisal at Binh Dan General Hospital

On June 19, Binh Dan General Hospital (Long Xuyen City) organized an assessment of the implementation of electronic medical records to decide on the use and storage of electronic medical records to replace paper medical records, storage and transmission of medical images instead of printing films, and storage of test information instead of printing paper. Dr. CKII Doan Thanh Hung, Deputy Director of An Giang Department of Health, was the Chairman of the Assessment Council.

Binh Dan General Hospital is a non-public general hospital, under the An Giang Department of Health , invested in construction and operation since January 2000, with 50 beds; invested and upgraded so that most of the departments and rooms meet the standards. The hospital maintains the implementation of medical examination and treatment activities for people, ensuring the health care needs of people in Long Xuyen City and neighboring localities.

The hospital advocates the application of information technology in all activities at the unit, aiming to improve service quality, build a friendly working environment, and scientific medical examination and treatment processes. The hospital has invested in using software: VNPT -HIS hospital management; test information management; receiving medical examination and treatment by scanning QRCode on citizen identification cards; integrating and issuing electronic invoices on hospital management software... to serve the management of medical examination and treatment from 2016 to present.

Through the actual inspection of the examination process at departments and rooms; inspection and appraisal to review the progress and quality of implementation, give comments, complete and improve the effectiveness of using the electronic medical record system at the unit; the appraisal results, the Council unanimously assessed Binh Dan General Hospital as meeting the standards of phase 1 in implementing electronic medical records.
