According to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Tan Duc: "To realize the growth figure of 10% by the end of this year, the entire political system of the province will continue to make more efforts, "racing" every day, every month and every quarter, not wasting time and development opportunities of the province in the new era".
The numbers of effort
In the first quarter, the province's GRDP economic growth increased by 7.37%; in the second quarter, it increased by 9.26%, and the average for the first 6 months of 2025 was 8.34% (the national average was 7.31%). Compared with the growth results of the same period in the first 6 months of 2024, the province's growth rate in the first 6 months of 2025 had a strong breakthrough from 6.8% to 8.34%.
Among the 17 provinces and cities nationwide assigned the target of GRDP growth of over 10% in 2025, Dong Nai is currently ranked 5/17. Promoting economic growth in the province is significant to the overall development of the country, as Dong Nai is one of the major industrial provinces in the country, accounting for a large proportion of the country's import and export turnover. Not stopping there, over the years, Dong Nai has also been one of the localities with large contributions to the central budget.
In the first 6 months of the year, before the merger of Binh Phuoc province with Dong Nai, Dong Nai's import and export situation recorded many signs of improvement compared to the same period in 2024, despite difficulties related to the US's reciprocal tax policy. Specifically, the total import and export turnover of goods in the province reached over 22.5 billion USD (up 16.6% over the same period in 2024), of which the export turnover was estimated at 13.194 billion USD, up 17.7% over the same period (accounting for about 6% of the country's export turnover), and the import turnover of goods reached 9.307 billion USD, up 15.2%.
Regarding investment attraction, in the first 6 months of the year, Dong Nai attracted an additional 1.2 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) registered for investment in Dong Nai, an increase of 48% over the same period in 2024. Of which, there were 47 newly licensed investment projects with a total registered capital of nearly 492 million USD and 60 projects with increased capital adjustment with a total additional capital of over 744 million USD. New investors have made choices in line with the province's green growth goals, focusing on high-tech industries such as: electronic components, semiconductor microchips, mechanical engineering, prefabricated metal products, etc.

Solidarity, maximum effort to realize double-digit growth target
From July 1, the two-level local government apparatus of Dong Nai province (new) has officially operated with a new position and new determination. Each cadre, civil servant, employee, worker and business community must unite and make the greatest effort to realize the double-digit growth target, and at the same time for the development of Dong Nai province in the new era.
Aggressive with growth goals
The figures reflecting the economic upturn of Dong Nai in the first 6 months of the year clearly reflect the effectiveness of the process of innovation in leadership thinking, direction, saying goes hand in hand with doing, no backtracking, just talking about doing. The motto of clear people, clear work, time and clear implementation results has helped many tasks to be completed on time. In particular, the process of streamlining the organizational apparatus combined with appropriate staff arrangement has motivated staff to boldly innovate their thinking, be ready to act; at the same time, eliminating the mindset of complaining about difficulties, shirking responsibility, fear of making mistakes, and not daring to do.
Since the beginning of the year, the process of streamlining the organizational apparatus has been continuous, while the task of economic development has always taken place in parallel. During this time, many important changes have been recorded when many large-scale land clearance projects have achieved positive results after many delays. For example, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project passing through Dong Nai, the Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City passing through Dong Nai, the land clearance of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, etc.

The GRDP growth target for 2025 assigned by the Government to Dong Nai province is from 10%. To achieve the above growth rate, the province must strive to increase by over 11.5% on average in each remaining quarter of 2025. This is a very difficult and heavy task, so the entire political system of the province must continue to make more efforts to complete the target assigned by the Government.
According to the Department of Finance, the task of disbursing public investment capital is being closely coordinated by the department with relevant departments, branches and units to strengthen the implementation. As of June 30, the province has disbursed VND5,127 billion, equal to 32.5% of the plan (the national average is 29.6%). If calculated among the 10 provinces and cities assigned by the Government with the highest public investment disbursement target, Dong Nai is in 3rd place out of 10 provinces and cities. In the remaining months, the province will strive to promote the progress of projects to complete the disbursement of over VND15,770 billion.
According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha, the task of achieving double-digit growth in the remaining 6 months of 2025 is very difficult and challenging, but we must not retreat, but act more resolutely, and the growth results each quarter must be higher to complete this goal. Therefore, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board must resolutely urge the progress of investment projects, especially key investment projects in the area. The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and regional boards must quickly urge the progress of projects to put them into operation, at the same time have the volume to settle, and increase the disbursement rate of public investment capital.
The rapid implementation of site clearance and a series of key transport projects in the (new) Dong Nai province will create momentum for the province to achieve its growth target. Among these are the North-South High-Speed Railway Project passing through Dong Nai, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, the Dak Nong - Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project and residential area projects, commercial areas, industrial parks, and other large-scale investment projects in Dong Nai.
