At the ceremony, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa announced the Decision on the establishment of the Monument Management Board, headed by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Toan, Deputy Director of the Center for Historical Research and Heritage Conservation of Thanh Hoa.

The establishment of the Monument Management Board aims to concretize the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee in Conclusion No. 3926-KL/TU dated July 3, 2025, while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of monument management and overcoming the restrictions and violations that have persisted in the past.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Nguyen Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, emphasized that the Monuments Management Board needs to urgently organize and seriously implement the directions of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, especially the development of coordination regulations between localities within the scope of the monument protection zone.

Clearly defining responsibilities among levels and sectors, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in management is a prerequisite to prevent acts of encroachment on relics, while creating a solid foundation for promoting heritage values in a sustainable and practical manner.

Along with that, the Management Board needs to closely coordinate with the authorities of the communes where the relics pass through, to review and evaluate the current status of land use in the relic area, especially areas of protective forest land, production forest land, illegal and unlicensed construction works, etc.

From there, develop a plan to submit to competent authorities to thoroughly handle existing violations, protect the original elements and unique cultural and spiritual space of the relics.

An equally important task is to strengthen propaganda, dissemination andeducation of laws on cultural heritage protection, raising public awareness of the historical and cultural values of sites.

The authorities and people of the relevant communes need to proactively coordinate with the Management Board in monitoring, promptly detecting, preventing or negating to the authorities to handle acts of encroachment, appropriation or exploitation of cultural heritage for personal purposes, distorting the sacred value of the relic.

According to historical records, in 248, after raising the flag of uprising at Quan Yen mountain in Dinh Tien commune, Yen Dinh district (now Dinh Tan commune, Thanh Hoa province), Ba Trieu and her army advanced to Nua mountain area to build up forces, preparing for the resistance war against the Ngo invaders.

This place is not only a revolutionary base but also a symbol of the indomitable will, desire for independence, freedom and deep patriotism of the Vietnamese people under the Northern domination period.

To this day, on the sacred peak of Ngan Nua, there are still many vestiges and legends about Ba Trieu and the glorious uprising she led. With these special values, on March 27, 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ranked the historical and scenic spot of Ba Trieu Uprising Site as a national relic.

The establishment of the Management Board of the National Historical Relic and Scenic Landscape of Ba Trieu Uprising Site is not only a concrete action to protect and preserve, but also demonstrates political determination in promoting the value of the heritage in a comprehensive manner, in accordance with the stature and significance of one of the greatest cultural and historical symbols of Thanh Hoa.

In the context of Thanh Hoa striving to affirm its role as the center of the North Central region, investing in preserving and promoting the value of Ba Trieu relics also has strategic significance, contributing to the development of cultural and spiritual tourism, creating sustainable livelihoods for local people, while spreading traditional values, patriotism and national pride to today's and future generations.
