Hoa Binh Provincial Museum preserves thousands of valuable documents and artifacts about Hoa Binh's history and culture, attracting visitors.
Currently, the system of provincial cultural and sports institutions includes: Cultural - Cinema Center, library, museum, stadium, gymnasium, swimming pool, mountain bike track. In particular, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center has an area of 9,000m2 with full functional rooms and auxiliary works such as: Cultural Palace with multi-purpose hall, conference room, outdoor stage... The Provincial Museum with an area of 1,800m2 is preserving many documents and artifacts of historical value, cultural traditions of the land and people of Hoa Binh. The Provincial Library with an area of 1,554m2, currently has 100,416 books, 42,572 titles, 27 newspapers and magazines; manages over 2,000 reader cards/year, serving over 32,000 readers/year; Maintain 10 rotations of over 2,300 books/year.
Regarding provincial sports facilities, there is 1 provincial sports stadium with an area of 3,023.2m2, with a capacity of 700 seats; 1 stadium with an area of 20,344m2, with a capacity of 5,000 seats; 1 swimming pool area with an area of about 2,500m2, 1 tennis court; 1 mountain bike racing track with an area of 13.34 hectares in Dan Chu ward (Hoa Binh city) meeting national and international standards with a 2km downhill track, a 5km cross-country track and other auxiliary works to organize national, regional and international competitions.
Regarding the system of district-level cultural and sports institutions, 10/10 districts and cities have cultural houses and stadiums; 4 districts have multi-purpose training houses. The system of communal-level cultural and sports institutions has 105 communes, wards and towns with cultural houses that meet the standards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , accounting for 69.5%; 92/151 communes, wards and towns have stadiums and sports areas, accounting for 60.9%, and 59 communes have land use planning but have not yet invested in construction.
Commune-level sports facilities have partly promoted their functions, serving as venues for events and sports activities of communes, wards and towns. Regarding grassroots cultural and sports facilities, 1,448 villages, hamlets and residential groups have cultural houses, reaching 97.7% and 77.5% have sports grounds.
It is estimated that in the period of 2020 - 2024, every year, provincial-level cultural and sports institutions will organize and coordinate the organization of more than 70 festivals, competitions, performances, and sports tournaments; district-level cultural institutions will also organize hundreds of events and at the commune level, thousands of events will be organized, attracting the participation of a large number of people from all walks of life.
According to comrade Quach Thi Kieu, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the system of cultural and sports institutions at all levels is being managed and used in accordance with the provisions of law. The institutions are organized to operate in a diverse manner, closely following the assigned functions and tasks, basically meeting the requirements of serving political tasks and the needs of the people.
To strengthen the management, exploitation and effective use of cultural and sports institutions to serve political tasks, contribute to local socio-economic development, preserve, conserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, and build cultural life at the grassroots level, in addition to removing difficulties and obstacles, the sector strengthens state management, propaganda and mobilization; gradually perfects the system of legal documents and regulations for cultural activities, especially at the grassroots level. Focus on innovating the content and methods of operation of cultural institutions; closely coordinate between sectors in investing in renovating, upgrading, building, exploiting and effectively using the functions of cultural institutions to serve the people. Promote the proactive and positive spirit of the people and the self-management role of the community in the cause of building and developing culture.
