At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, proposed that the French Embassy and the French Institute in Vietnam continue to support a number of key cooperations in the coming time. First of all, it is to support the search, access and digitization of original documents serving the restoration of important works in the Hue Monuments Complex such as Thai To Temple, Can Chanh Palace, Dai Cung Mon, Co Ha Garden... The Center also hopes that France will coordinate in organizing document survey teams, provide technical support and connect with major archives such as the National Library of France, EFEO, French Army Museum...
The Center proposes cooperation in developing the Hue Poetry Museum into a center for archiving - researching - displaying heritage documents following the model of an open library combined with a digital museum. In addition, the Center also calls for cooperation in training and improving professional capacity for heritage conservation staff. Intensive training courses, short-term internships in France and two-way expert exchanges will be the premise for Hue to gradually approach international standards in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.

Another important content is connecting and mobilizing financial and technical resources from international conservation funds such as UNESCO, Fondation du Patrimoine, Aliph Fund... to serve projects such as digitizing documents, displaying museums, developing storage and research infrastructure.
The Center expressed its desire to cooperate with France in surveying, verifying and promoting the repatriation of Nguyen Dynasty artifacts currently in private collections or cultural institutions in France. Thereby, aiming to organize joint exhibitions, restore and digitize artifacts and promote international communication to create social consensus for the heritage repatriation journey.
Acknowledging the cooperation proposals, Ms. Sophie Maysonnave pledged to support the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in participating in training programs on heritage conservation, archiving and digitization. Regarding the budget to support the restoration of relics, she said she would forward this content to her successor for further consideration in the coming time.
The working session affirmed Hue's continuous efforts in expanding international cooperation, especially with France - a country with a long-standing historical and cultural relationship with the ancient capital, to preserve and promote heritage values in a sustainable manner.
