From the 2024-2025 school year, some junior high and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City (old) have issued regulations prohibiting students from using phones in school, to help students focus on studying, have time to participate in school activities as well as play with peers.
Accordingly, many schools have equipped phone cabinets in the classroom. When entering the classroom, all students must hand in their phones to the class monitor to put them in the cabinet and lock them. Students are only allowed to use their phones when requested by the subject teacher. After school, students can take their phones back. This regulation is supported and agreed by many teachers and parents.
