Theresa Sommer is reportedly dating the German football legend. |
Matthaus is 64 years old. He divorced his fifth wife, Anastasia Klimko, in 2021. Matthaus was recently spotted with Theresa Sommer attending many public events, including the famous ski race in Ischgl (Austria) and the Nations League final in Munich.
When asked about the relationship, Matthaus simply replied on A2 television: "We came here to ski, everything else is private."
Sommer is a model who is well-known on social media. The 26-year-old studied economics at King's College London and Durham University. German media believe the pair are more than friends. Matthaus declined to comment when contacted by Bild .
Matthaus has been married five times. His first wife was Silvia (1981-1992), followed by a five-year marriage to former Miss Universe Switzerland Lolita Morena. In 2003, Matthaus married Marijana Colic while coaching in Serbia, but divorced six years later.
In December 2008, he married 21-year-old Ukrainian model Kristina Chudinova in Las Vegas, but the marriage lasted just over a year. His fifth marriage, to Anastasia Klimko, lasted from 2014 to 2021. They have a son together, Milan.
Despite his turbulent personal life, Matthaus remains one of the greatest footballers of the 20th century. He won the Ballon d'Or, the 1990 World Cup and made over 400 appearances for Bayern Munich.
