Before the opening, the market received positive news about the US and Vietnam reaching a trade agreement. However, there are still no specific applicable tax rates and detailed regulations for each industry.
Along with that, the net selling momentum of foreign investors has made the market sentiment quite cautious recently. Therefore, the market fluctuated in the first half of the session, at times the VN-Index was even red. From 11am, improved demand helped the VN-Index increase more.

At the end of the morning trading session, the VN-Index temporarily stopped at 1,391.78 points, up 7.19 points (0.52%). This is the peak this year and the highest level since March 2022. The VN30-Index reached 1,493.03 points after "increasing" 10.27 points (0.69%).
Increasing stocks dominated with 212 stocks going up and 92 stocks going down. In the VN30 group, the number of increasing stocks was 3 times higher than the number of decreasing stocks (22 stocks and 7 stocks).
The industry groups that increased points dominated, in which, hardware was the only industry that increased by more than 4%. The industries of distribution and retail of durable goods, financial services, telecommunications, and energy all increased by more than 1%. On the contrary, no industry decreased by 1%.
With the advantage of capitalization, the banking group played an important role in supporting the market's rise in this session. Of the 10 stocks contributing the most to the VN-Index, this group accounted for 5 stocks, of which VCB and CTG contributed the most, 1.17 points and 1 point, respectively.
The securities group performed well with many stocks in the green. However, the capitalization of this group is not too large, so its contribution to the VN-Index is not clear.
Liquidity reached nearly VND16,000 billion. During the session, liquidity of the securities group was quite good, VIX led the market with nearly VND1,000 billion traded. In addition, SSI and VND were also in the group of codes with high transactions.
The bright spot is that foreign investors were net buyers this morning. They bought over VND1,891 billion and sold over VND933 billion.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index reached 232.81 points after gaining 1.19 points (0.51%); the HNX30-Index temporarily stopped at 483.23 points, up 2.57 points (0.53%). The entire exchange had more than VND1,100 billion changed hands.
