Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Ministry of Construction in Official Dispatch No. 5849/BXD-KTQLXD (dated June 26, 2025), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, based on the opinions of the National Assembly Standing Committee in Official Dispatch No. 2847/TB-TTKQH (dated October 5, 2023) and legal provisions to guide the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to adjust the Land Acquisition, Compensation and Resettlement Support Project for Long Thanh Airport in accordance with the correct order, procedures and authority. The deadline for completion is before July 20, 2025.
Previously, in report No. 5849 sent to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Ministry of Construction proposed that the Prime Minister assign the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to prepare documents and carry out procedures to adjust the Land Acquisition, Compensation and Resettlement Support Project of Long Thanh Airport according to the provisions of Decree No. 29/2021/ND-CP (dated March 26, 2021) of the Government regulating the order and procedures for appraising important national projects and monitoring and evaluating investment. The People's Committee of Dong Nai province is responsible for the accuracy of the contents submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision to adjust the project.
In April 2025, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province sent a document to the Prime Minister to report to the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration and approval of the policy of not investing in an area of more than 81 hectares in subdivision III, Binh Son Resettlement Area and removing it from the Land Acquisition, Compensation, Support and Resettlement Project of Long Thanh Airport. At the same time, it agreed to assign the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to retain this land (which has been compensated) for socio -economic development according to the local planning.
Sub-area III, Binh Son Resettlement Area was planned to be built to resettle households of the Long Thanh Airport Project. However, later, households wished to be resettled in the Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area. In 2024, Dong Nai province completed compensation and site clearance to hand over the entire Long Thanh Airport Project site and 2 connecting traffic routes to the investor. At the same time, it completed the resettlement arrangement for affected households in the Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area.
