Program to disseminate and answer legal questions for Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Korea at an online bridge in Hanoi .
On the morning of July 6, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and the Hanoi Bar Association, organized an online legal dissemination and consultation session for Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Korea in Hanoi and Korea.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, emphasized that the task of caring for the overseas Vietnamese community has always been one of the focuses of foreign affairs and national solidarity work, which has been closely directed by the Party and State with a series of major policies and guidelines over the past decades.
The activities of disseminating and answering legal questions for Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Korea not only aim to increase the dissemination andeducation of Vietnamese law to overseas Vietnamese but also connect and provide legal information of countries around the world to overseas Vietnamese, contributing to raising the legal awareness of overseas Vietnamese, helping the community integrate well, be respected, loved and have a solid legal status in the host country.
At the Korean end, Mr. Vu Ho, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea, said that there are currently about 350,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in many provinces and cities of Korea. The Vietnamese community in Korea is a young community, growing and integrating quickly with the local society, actively participating in many fields and professions and always looking towards the homeland and country. Therefore, helping people fully and accurately grasp information about the laws of Vietnam and Korea, especially regulations related to investment in Vietnam and foreign workers in Korea, plays a very important role.
Within the framework of the Program, lawyers from the Hanoi Bar Association, the Gyeonggi - Korea Bar Association and representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea in charge of legal support introduced the provisions of Vietnamese and Korean laws, answered 12 groups of questions from overseas Vietnamese who attended directly and sent them to the Program, focusing on issues of interest to overseas Vietnamese such as labor standards, signing labor contracts, salary regimes, allowances, insurance, marriage and family with foreign elements, real estate ownership and regulations on investment in Vietnam..., especially the new contents of the amended Law on Nationality, procedures for applying for/returning Vietnamese nationality...
After the Program ends, if overseas Vietnamese need further answers or information, they can continue to contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for continued timely support.
In the coming time, to contribute to the successful implementation of the four new breakthrough resolutions of the Politburo, especially Resolution 66 on innovation in law making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will actively coordinate with domestic agencies and functional units and domestic and international bar associations to continue organizing programs to disseminate and answer legal questions for Vietnamese people living, working and studying in other countries./.
