Socio -economic infrastructure development in the construction of new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period has achieved many outstanding results, playing a role as a "lever" to promote production and improve people's lives.
By June 2025, 97% of communes nationwide will meet the criteria on rural trade infrastructure and information and communication criteria; 98.1% of communes will meet the criteria on irrigation and disaster prevention and control; an increase of 1.6% compared to the end of 2021.
Along with that, 96.5% of communes met the electricity criteria; 88.4% of communes met the residential housing criteria; 85.7% of communes met the cultural facilities criteria; 87.3% of communes met the traffic criteria; and 87.5% of communes met the school criteria; an increase of 1.7-7.3% compared to the end of 2021.
However, many localities still face difficulties in mobilizing capital for large-scale infrastructure investment, especially inter-regional and inter-commune projects. Some essential infrastructure areas such as intra-field traffic, pumping stations, agricultural cold storage, logistics centers, etc. have not received adequate investment attention, affecting the effectiveness of production reorganization and rural economic development according to the value chain.
