Traffic diversion for Dong Nien bridge repair on National Highway 5

Since July 8, to serve the repair of Dong Nien bridge on National Highway 5, Viet Hoa ward (Hai Phong city), relevant units have organized temporary traffic diversion to ensure safety and limit congestion.

Recently, Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Corporation (VIDIFI) informed about the traffic diversion plan to serve the urgent repair of the subsidence of the road surface at the Dong Nien bridgehead on National Highway 5, through Viet Hoa ward ( Hai Phong city).

Accordingly, for the Hanoi - Hai Phong direction, motorbikes, cars under 16 seats and trucks under 2.5 tons traveling along National Highway 5, take An Dinh service road to Nguyen Luong Bang street at km47+700, then move along Ngo Quyen street and then go to National Highway 5 at Ngo Quyen overpass intersection.

Hai Phong - Hanoi direction, motorbikes, cars under 16 seats and trucks under 2.5 tons go from National Highway 5 to the road under the bridge at km 50 +950 to Ngo Quyen Street, then pass Nguyen Luong Bang Street and re-enter National Highway 5 at km 48 + 32.

The project to urgently repair the subsidence of the road surface at the beginning of Dong Nien bridge on National Highway 5, through Viet Hoa ward, is invested by the Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation.

Construction and repair of subsidence at Dong Nien bridgehead

The main items include: settlement treatment by grouting under the transition slab, replacement of damaged transition slabs, restoration of the bridgehead road surface structure, road surface smoothing and restoration of the traffic safety system.

The project was announced by VIDIFI to start construction on June 6, 2025. The construction unit, VIDIFI Road Construction and Maintenance Enterprise, has processed steel reinforcement at the factory, and the bridgehead construction will begin on July 8, 2025. The project is expected to be completed in October 2025.

VIDIFI requests that departments, branches and local authorities coordinate to notify and guide people to comply with traffic diversion plans and support traffic safety during the construction process.
