Viet Bac Folk Music, Dance and Singing Theatre changed its name to Vietnam National Music, Dance and Singing Theatre.

According to Decision No. 1270 dated June 24, 2025 of the Prime Minister on promulgating the list of public service units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and at the same time reorganizing public service units under the Ministry, the Viet Bac Folk Music, Dance and Singing Theater was officially merged into the Vietnam Music, Dance and Singing Theater.

After the merger, the Vietnam Music, Dance and Singing Theatre was renamed the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Singing Theatre, marking a new step in the organization, management and promotion of traditional and modern artistic values ​​of the nation.

The merger aims to streamline the apparatus, improve the efficiency of artistic activities, and at the same time contribute to building a national cultural institution with scale, quality, and enough power to spread and integrate in the new period.

The Viet Bac Folk Music, Dance and Singing Theatre, formerly the Viet Bac Autonomous Region People's Art Troupe, was established on May 20, 1953. The Viet Bac Folk Music, Dance and Singing Theatre is a self-funded public service unit under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

After more than 70 years of construction and development, the Theater has successfully completed all assigned tasks, received many noble awards, certificates of merit and domestic and international awards. Many artists of the Theater have been awarded the title of People's Artist, Meritorious Artist and state awards for literature and art.
