A 29-year-old Chinese man recently shared about the difficult time he had when he learned he had lung cancer. It was difficult for both him and his family to accept the truth.
Sharing his 'bloody' experience, the patient said that he used to be a healthy young man. Since he was young, he had a habit of smoking and hanging out with friends who smoked regularly. Although he knew the harmful effects of tobacco, he never thought that lung cancer could happen to him.

How dangerous is lung cancer?
Lung cancer is a condition in which a malignant tumor forms and develops in the lungs. Over time, this tumor will increase in size and begin to invade and cause disease in nearby tissues and even metastasize when it reaches a severe stage.
There are two types of lung cancer:
Small cell lung cancer: accounts for about 15 - 20% of cases and is common in people who smoke or are exposed to a lot of cigarette smoke;
Non-small cell lung cancer: accounts for 80 - 85% of lung cancer cases, more common than small cell lung cancer. Non-small cell lung cancer includes adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and large cell carcinoma.
These two types of lung tumors have very similar symptoms. In the early stages, patients will show symptoms such as: prolonged cough, cough with phlegm or blood, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain, pain that increases when laughing, breathing deeply or coughing, fatigue and weakness, hoarseness, loss of appetite, weight loss.

Is lung cancer hereditary?
Lung cancer is not contagious but it is hereditary. People with relatives who have lung cancer are more likely to develop the disease than normal people. That is why relatives of lung cancer patients are often advised to have regular cancer screening tests.
Is lung cancer contagious?
Is lung cancer contagious is a question of many people, especially when someone in the family has lung cancer. When seeing a person with lung cancer constantly coughing, coughing violently, many people fear that they can be infected through breathing or daily activities.
