Artist Chi Tam and Phuong Lien
Artist Chi Tam visited the graves of his old colleagues - the voices and instruments that once made up the golden age of Vietnamese theater and music .
No flashy announcements, no livestreams or social media noise, just fresh flowers and silent prayers in the wind, artist Chi Tam and his wife bowed in turn before the graves of female artist Ngoc Dang, singer Le Thu, musician Hoang Thi Tho...
The names have remained forever in the distant land, but each role and each vọng cổ song they left behind still resonates forever in the minds of theater and music lovers.

Ms. Lien took artist Chi Tam and his wife to visit the artists' graves.
"I was moved when I visited the grave of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dang. She was an artist who had many famous roles on the traditional theater stage. Now, only her grave remains under a layer of withered grass. Then I visited singer Le Thu, whose deep, husky voice contained a sky full of longing.
When I visited the tomb of musician Hoang Thi Tho - a talented musician of modern music, who wrote many classic songs for life, especially songs praising the homeland, I was very moved." - Artist Chi Tam shared.
Before each grave, artist Chi Tam's eyes lingered with memories that only artists who stood together backstage, sharing the same heartbeat on stage, could understand.
Artist Chi Tam and his wife were brought to this cemetery by Ms. Lien – adopted daughter of People’s Artist Minh Vuong to burn incense in memory of the deceased artists. This place is also the resting place of Mr. Nghia – Ms. Lien’s husband, son-in-law of People’s Artist Minh Vuong.
"Both husband and wife love artists very much. Anyone who comes to America is warmly welcomed by Lien and her husband" - Artist Chi Tam said about People's Artist Minh Vuong's adopted child.

After the visit, the couple visited artist Phuong Lien - a veteran who won the Thanh Tam Gold Medal of Cai Luong theater, currently living in the US. The hug between the graying heads, between the two co-stars who once performed together in many Cai Luong plays, was a deeply moving image.
They asked each other in slow voices, with eyes that could not hide their tears. Not because of sadness, but because it had been so long since they had held each other's hands - after so many changes in life, after all the losses that they could not see each other again.
Artists' love sometimes doesn't need many words. Just a nod, a quiet look is enough. In a foreign land, where many Vietnamese artists have chosen to end their lives, the appearance of Chi Tam and his wife is like an invisible link between the present and memories.
They came, not only to remember, but also to tell their former colleagues: "You still live in our hearts, still there in the music, the singing, in the love of the audience."
And perhaps, in that moment, somewhere, the deceased artists also smiled. Because they knew: in the art world – where time may fade, but the love of an artist never has boundaries.
