Russia officially announced the results of the 2024 presidential election

According to the official vote count results announced by the Russian Central Election Commission on March 21, a total of 76,277,708 citizens voted in favor of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the 2024 Russian presidential election. Thus, Mr. Putin won with an overwhelming 87.28% of the vote.

After the Russian Central Election Commission announced the official figures, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on the Kremlin's Telegram channel that he would fulfill all campaign promises and proposals from candidates.

“Each candidate has his own approach to solving specific problems. I will definitely use every constructive proposal, every idea that resonates with voters in common work for the benefit of the country's development,” Vladimir Putin stressed.

President Putin also thanked all those who participated in the presidential election and stressed that every vote of the Russian people in the election is of great importance. The successful election shows that Russia is a big and friendly family.

Meanwhile, other candidates running this year include Nikolay Kharitonov, Chairman of the Committee for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic of the Russian Duma, who received 4.31% of the vote; Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Duma's International Affairs Committee, who received 3.20%; and Deputy Speaker of the Duma Vladislav Davankov, who received 3.85%.

Providing more information about the election, Ms. Ella Pamfilova, Head of the Central Election Commission of Russia, said that the voter turnout this year was 77.49%.

Ms. Pamfilova noted that the voter turnout in this election is a testament to Russia's democracy. She thanked all political parties in Russia for fully understanding the importance of the election, overcoming differences, different agendas and ideologies to fully demonstrate their responsibility in the election for the common development of the country.

In this Russian presidential election, there were 41 invalid ballots, mainly in areas with a large number of resettled people. According to Ms. Pamfilova, a large proportion of invalid ballots were in Poland, with the rate reaching one-third. After the election ended, the Russian Central Election Commission received more than 14,000 complaints, more than half of which were from abroad.
