Nghe An male student won 2 gold medals and was awarded 257 million VND

195 Nghe An students who won international and national prizes and had high high school graduation exam scores were awarded more than 3.5 billion VND by Nghe An province, of which one male student received 257 million VND.

On the evening of August 28, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to honor 195 students who won international and national prizes and students who achieved high scores in the 2025 high school graduation exam of this province in the 2024-2025 school year.

This year, Nghe An province has spent more than 3.5 billion VND to reward 195 students with the above achievements. Of which, more than 1.6 billion VND was awarded to students who won medals at regional and international Olympic competitions and teachers who directly trained the students who won the prizes.

Last school year, Nghe An had 6 students from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted winning prizes at international and regional Olympic competitions in physics, chemistry, mathematics and Russian, including 4 gold medals and 3 silver medals.

According to regulations of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, students who win international gold medals will receive a reward equal to 60 times the basic salary, equivalent to 140,400,000 VND. Students who win regional gold medals will receive a reward equal to 50 times the basic salary, equivalent to 117,000,000 VND.

With 2 gold medals in physics at the international and regional Olympics, male student Nguyen The Quan received the highest reward of 257 million VND.

Male student Vo Trong Khai won the gold medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad and was awarded 140,400,000 million VND, and male student Nguyen Ngo Duc won the gold medal at the Mandeleev Chemistry Olympiad and was awarded 117,000,000 VND.

3 students who won silver medals in international competitions received awards of 93,600,000 VND/student.

In addition, 7 teachers who directly trained the award-winning students were also awarded, with the highest prize receiving more than 400 million VND.
