On August 29, Hanoi Medical University held a graduation ceremony for nearly 750 new doctors of the 2019-2025 course in the fields of medicine, traditional medicine, preventive medicine and dentistry.

Professor Nguyen Huu Tu, Rector of Hanoi Medical University, said this is considered one of the most special courses in the school's training history, as students have to go through the first 3 years right at the time of the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the Principal of Hanoi Medical University, the highlight of this year is that for the first time, the graduation ceremony was held in a hall filled with fresh flowers, and the new doctors were awarded degrees with name-printed sash as a special and memorable memory throughout their career journey.

"No generation has faced as many challenges as this course. Learning and teaching have been severely disrupted, especially internships and clinical practice. However, thanks to creativity and efforts to adapt, teachers and students have ensured training progress, while contributing to the country's fight against the epidemic," said Professor Tu.

The 2019-2025 course is also the first to apply a comprehensive innovative training program for medical doctors. Students are taught according to international output standards, and are exposed to new teaching and assessment methods. After 6 years, the results have proven effective with 100% of students graduating, most of whom are good or excellent, and many have passed their residency exams.

Not only making efforts in studying, students of Thanh Hoa branch also overcome difficulties and achieved many memorable achievements. This achievement contributes to affirming the prestige and position of Hanoi Medical University in the university education system.

Next September, the school will be ranked 5 stars for training medical doctors and public health , ranked in the top 801-1,000 in the world and 400-500 in Asia according to Times Higher Education.

The school leaders expressed their pride in the new doctors who have overcome a difficult journey to be present today. "A graduation certificate is not only a recognition of academic achievements but also a testament to the determination, courage and dedication of the young generation in the medical profession," said Mr. Tu.

The school awarded diplomas to nearly 1,100 full-time students, including nearly 750 doctors and 345 bachelors in the following majors: Nursing, Laboratory Technology, Ophthalmology, Public Health, Nutrition, 2021-2025 course.

Of which, the graduation rate with excellent and fair grades accounts for nearly 75%. The school awarded 251 outstanding students, including the valedictorian of the entire course, the valedictorian of the major, and many students with good academic and work achievements.
