Nghe An provincial leaders met to pay tribute to people with revolutionary contributions and exemplary policy families

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his deep gratitude and highly appreciated the will of self-reliance and self-improvement, the great contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, seriously wounded comrades, veterans, former youth volunteers and families with meritorious services to the revolution to the cause of building, protecting and developing the homeland and the country over the past 80 years.

On the morning of August 28, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, leaders of Nghe An province met and expressed gratitude to people with revolutionary contributions and exemplary policy families.

Attending the program were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; along with comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the People's Council, departments, branches and 135 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, pre-uprising cadres, Heroes of the Armed Forces, wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Heroic in wartime, shining example in peacetime

During the wars to protect the Fatherland, Nghe An was both a great rear base, providing manpower and resources for the great front line, with the spirit of "Not a pound of rice is missing, not a soldier is missing", "no regrets until the vehicle has passed the house".

Nghe An was also the front line, directly fighting steadfastly and bravely, sharing the fire for the battlefields, contributing with the whole country to the great victory of the nation in the Ho Chi Minh era and fulfilling the noble international duty.

Through the long, arduous and fierce resistance wars, Nghe An province had more than 590,000 people participating in the army, more than 45,000 youth volunteers; more than 167,000 people participating in the frontline labor force, militia and guerrillas; more than 45,000 people recognized as martyrs; more than 56,000 wounded and sick soldiers.

At the same time, Nghe An had 20,000 people participating in the resistance war and children of comrades infected with Agent Orange; 930 revolutionary cadres were imprisoned by the enemy; 2,825 mothers were awarded and posthumously awarded the title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother"; more than 500,000 families and individuals were awarded the Resistance Medal.

Returning to peacetime, many wounded and sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs have always strived to overcome their injuries and losses, to do well in the economy , and to participate in building and protecting the Party and the government at all levels. Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with meritorious services have always been exemplary in implementing the Party's policies and the State's policies, contributing to building a rich and beautiful homeland.

Speaking at the program, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed that behind those statistics are the silent, boundless sacrifices of countless heroes, martyrs and tens of thousands of families in the heroic Soviet homeland. History will forever remember, and today's generations will forever be grateful for the sacrifices of previous generations.

The Provincial Party Secretary said that, along with efforts to develop the economy and society, the provincial leaders always identify the implementation of policies and regimes for people with meritorious services as sentiment, gratitude, and an extremely important political task.

Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have proactively and actively coordinated closely in caring for wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions.

Movements and campaigns for the entire population to participate in supporting the establishment of the "Repaying gratitude" Fund to support people with meritorious services in housing; to support and care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, seriously wounded and sick soldiers, and lonely martyrs' parents; to help and create conditions for people with meritorious services and policy families to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty... have been spreading widely throughout the province, becoming a cultural beauty of Nghe An people.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung said that at present, the entire Party, army and people are making efforts to implement three strategic breakthroughs in institutions, training high-quality human resources and building modern infrastructure.

At the same time, focus on implementing the revolution of streamlining, improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the political system's apparatus, and operating smoothly and effectively the two-level local government apparatus.

Nghe An province is summarizing the 2020 - 2025 term; seizing every opportunity and great chance, confidently entering the new term with high political determination; striving to well implement Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo and the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the working session with the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee: Nghe An must become a modern locality in the digital age, a convergence of progressive governance, social creativity, technological capacity and human aspirations.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 is an opportunity to review the glorious history and traditions of the nation, and to record the great contributions of previous generations.
