Improving customer service capacity in tourism accommodation business

DNO - On the afternoon of August 29, in Da Nang city, a seminar was held on improving management capacity and service quality for guests in the tourism accommodation business by 2025.

The seminar was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City with the participation of delegates from the City Tourism Association; leaders of the People's Committees of communes and wards; managers of tourist accommodation establishments and tourism training establishments in Da Nang City.

According to information at the seminar, as of August 2025, the total number of tourist accommodation establishments in Da Nang was updated to 2,365 establishments with 61,898 rooms.

Of which, 4-5 star and equivalent tourist accommodation establishments have 164 establishments with 31,058 rooms (accounting for 50.2% of the number of rooms); 3 star and equivalent establishments have 132 establishments with 8,556 rooms (accounting for 13.8% of the number of rooms).

At the seminar, representatives of the Department of Accommodation Management (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) disseminated regulations related to tourism accommodation business activities and related contents; deployed the Da Nang Tourism Culture Criteria Set, the Green Tourism Criteria Set for hotels, homestays and resorts.

As the National Day holiday on September 2nd is approaching, representatives of the tourism management agency also requested accommodation establishments to strictly implement regulations on price registration, public posting and selling at the correct listed price of products and services; not to arbitrarily increase prices, causing price fever, negatively affecting the city's tourism industry.

On this occasion, representatives of Da Nang City Police thoroughly grasped regulations on ensuring security and order and declaring accommodation for domestic and international guests at tourist accommodation establishments in the city.

In addition, a representative of the Faculty of Tourism (Da Nang University of Architecture) shared a topic on improving leadership and management capacity: "Conflict handling tactics in the service environment and the art of communication when receiving and handling customer feedback at tourist accommodation establishments".
