Marvel Studios announced the release of superhero series Daredevil: Born Again, confirming that season 2 is about to start filming.
At the D23 event taking place on the evening of August 9, Marvel Studios has revealed the first images of Daredevil: Born Again .
The time of superheroes is back
The film marks the return of actor Charlie Cox, who reprises his role as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer and vigilante known as Daredevil.
Daredevil: Born Again is the sequel to the superhero series Daredevil aired 3 seasons on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 and received much praise from audiences and critics.
The film also features the return of Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Wilson Bethel as Poindexter.
New faces joining the cast include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Jeremy Earl and Ayelet Zurer, who replaces Sandrine Holt's role as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk in the original series.
The trailer premiered at D23, but has not yet been released on online platforms.
In the clip, the scope of the series' violence is clear when Daredevil muse: "Someone has to protect the streets" and "New York has always been a bloodthirsty place."
These lines suggest a dark and tense atmosphere, while also confirming Daredevil's strong return, ready to fight his enemies at New York.
Initial, Daredevil: Born Again was announced as an 18-episode series, marking the first time Marvel has produced a long-running series.
However, the series later underwent a major revamp, resulting in a reduction in the number of episodes to fit the show's traditional structure. Disney+ .
This means that Daredevil: Born Again There will be fewer episodes, similar to other series on Disney+ , to ensure content quality and consistency with the platform's broadcasting format.
At the event, Marvel also announced that season 2 of this series will soon begin filming.
Daredevil: Born Again Preview will be released on Disney+ in March 2025.
After series Daredevil on Netflix was canceled, Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio have gone on to star in other MCU projects.
Specifically, Charlie Cox has a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Matt Murdock. He also recurred in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and there is a short segment in Echo . Vincent D'Onofrio plays the villain in Hawkeye and Echo .
