Ly Hoang Nam promises to shine
This is the first time the national pickleball tournament has been held, but it has created great attraction with more than 200 athletes from 39 units nationwide registering to participate. Notable among them are Vietnam's number 1 tennis player Ly Hoang Nam, number 2 tennis player Trinh Linh Giang, and "net king" Le Quoc Khanh.

The 2025 National Pickleball Tournament also features notable faces such as Huynh Thien Phuc, Truong Vinh Hien, Sophia Phuong Anh... Athletes compete in 5 categories including men's singles, women's singles, women's doubles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. Among them, Ly Hoang Nam and Huynh Thien Phuc are strong candidates for the men's singles championship title. In the men's doubles category, the pair Huynh Thien Phuc/Truong Vinh Hien also have formidable competitors, Ly Hoang Nam/Trinh Linh Giang.
Mr. Mac Xuan Tung, in charge of the pickleball department, Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department, said that after successfully testing the national pickleball club tournament in 2024, the Sports and Physical Training Department will organize the 2025 national pickleball championship. This year's tournament regulations stipulate that each athlete can only compete for 1 team in the tournament and each player cannot register for more than 3 events. Athletes also compete in 2 age groups: from 14 to 35 and from 36 years old and above. This tournament helps athletes improve their skills and serves as a basis for selecting athletes to represent the Vietnamese pickleball team to participate in international tournaments in the future.

The new sport of pickleball is developing explosively in Vietnam, attracting the participation of many athletes. Among them, athletes from tennis, table tennis, and badminton have switched to pickleball and quickly asserted their talents. Ly Hoang Nam, with a background in tennis, has shown his ability when switching to pickleball, continuously achieving high results in the tournaments he participated in.
The tournament is organized by DonexGroup Joint Stock Company in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration.
