Spreading the image of Da Nang to the world

Through the international press, the image of Da Nang, a modern, safe, friendly and dynamic city, is spreading strongly to the world. Foreign press not only promotes tourism and culture but is also an effective information channel to attract investment and expand international cooperation; thereby, enhancing the position and brand of Da Nang in the international arena.

Da Nang City is the political , economic, cultural and social center of the Central Highlands region, and is also a prestigious destination for major international events.

Over the years, Da Nang has continuously affirmed its role and position through the successful organization of a series of regional and international events such as: Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF), Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival, Asian Golf Tourism Festival, Asia Pacific Golf Tourism Congress (AGTC), International Marathon. And international conferences on science , technology, tourism, along with many activities to survey and introduce new tourism products.

In particular, in 2017, Da Nang city was chosen to host the APEC Summit Week, attracting the participation of thousands of delegates, including more than 700 domestic and international reporters. This event has strongly spread the image of Da Nang to the world , affirming the city's organizational capacity and ability to deeply integrate into the international community. From there, promoting foreign information work, promoting the image, culture, and people of Vietnam and enhancing the brand value of Da Nang.

Within the framework of major events such as: Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities - Da Nang 2025, Meeting Da Nang 2024, Da Nang Semiconductor Day 2024..., the city organizes many experiential activities and field surveys for international press. This is an opportunity for reporters to gain a deeper understanding of the city's development potential, investment environment, open-door policies and dynamism.

It can be said that through articles and reports of international press, the image of Da Nang emerges not only as a leading tourist and event destination in Vietnam, but also as a dynamic development center in science, technology, international finance and attracting foreign investment. From there, it contributes to clarifying the message that Da Nang wants to send to the international community that it is a dynamic, open, safe, livable and worth-investing city.

Da Nang has also been continuously honored by prestigious international tourism organizations. In early 2025, Time Out magazine (UK) continued to vote Da Nang third in the list of "8 most worth-visiting destinations in Asia", recognizing the attraction of the city's natural landscape, unique cuisine and rich tourism experiences.

At the end of 2023, Condé Nast Traveler magazine (UK) announced that Da Nang ranked 2nd in the list of "11 best destinations in Asia in 2024", being the only representative of Vietnam to be included. In 2022, the city was ranked by TripAdvisor as "Top favorite destinations in Asia" based on votes from global travelers; in the "Top 10 best tourist cities in Southeast Asia" at the Asia's Best Awards 2022 by Travel & Leisure magazine (USA); and won the title "Asia's leading event and festival destination" at the World Travel Awards (WTA).

International press is an important channel to convey information about development policies, key projects, and investment cooperation opportunities in Da Nang. According to experts, foreigners often access information about Vietnam and localities through articles by international reporters, who provide objective perspectives and in-depth analysis of the market, economic indicators, investment potential and risks. These are key factors in building trust with foreign investors. Therefore, Da Nang being mentioned positively on international media platforms is a premise to attract attention and investment capital from large domestic and foreign corporations.

According to Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Xuan Binh, in recent times, the Department of Foreign Affairs has not only played the role of supervising and managing foreign press activities but also acted as a bridge between press agencies and the city government. The city has proactively built sustainable, long-term partnerships with international press agencies to enhance the ability to promote information about the city and maintain Da Nang's presence in global media.
