(Dan Tri) - National Assembly delegates proposed increasing pensions and allowances, especially allowances for people with meritorious services in 2025.

Discussing socio -economic issues on the morning of November 4, delegate Tran Hoang Ngan (HCMC) said that in 2024, Vietnam will continue to maintain socio-economic stability, inflation will be controlled...

Delegates also agreed with the Government 's report that in 2025, growth should be strived for at 6.5-7% and even higher at 7-7.5%.

Regarding the group of solutions, the delegates reiterated the country's three growth drivers. Firstly, regarding exports, the Government said that in the first 9 months of the year, growth was 15.4%. However, the proportion of domestic exports is still low, about 28%.

Therefore, Mr. Ngan believes that there should be a policy to connect FDI enterprises with domestic enterprises and a strategy to develop the mechanical industry, supporting service industry, materials and accessories industry. In particular, more attention should be paid to Vietnamese brands in the agricultural and aquatic products industry.

Delegates were delighted when Vietnamese intellectual products, digital technology products, and information technology products were exported to international markets with 1,500 digital technology enterprises.

Second, total social investment capital increased. However, Mr. Ngan said that social investment capital in the private sector increased slowly, while that in the foreign investment sector increased rapidly. Therefore, the delegate said that there should be a comprehensive policy to support Vietnamese enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises.

Third, domestic consumption is still low compared to before the pandemic. Therefore, the HCMC delegate suggested that there should be policies to support consumption, especially tax reduction, to encourage Vietnamese people to use Vietnamese goods.

In particular, Mr. Ngan proposed to pay attention to the issue of pensions, subsidies, and allowances for people with meritorious services in 2025. Because next year there will be many important events for the nation.

"We hope the Government will propose to increase pensions and allowances. We can not increase public sector salaries, but we must increase pensions and allowances," the delegate emphasized.
