With a scale of 360,000 m2 and a capacity of 200,000 vehicles/year, this is the 5th manufacturing plant being deployed by VinFast globally, affirming the rapid deployment capacity as well as the strong strength of the Vietnamese automobile brand.
The inauguration ceremony of VinFast Ha Tinh electric car factory was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, along with leaders and former senior leaders of the Party, State and Ha Tinh province.
The electric car factory in Vung Ang is the second production facility to officially come into operation, and is also the 5th project in the factory system being deployed by VinFast globally. With the construction and installation time of the factory and machinery in less than 7 months, VinFast Ha Tinh is recognized as one of the fastest completed automobile factories in the world to date.
The factory has a total area of 360,000 m2, including the main functional areas of the Body Welding Workshop, Painting Workshop, Assembly Workshop, Logistics Warehouse and Quality Control Center. In addition, a cluster of auxiliary factories with a total area of 240,000 m2 is also under construction and will continue to be expanded in the following years.
VinFast Ha Tinh is invested in the most modern production line in Southeast Asia, with a high level of automation, applying advanced technology from the world's leading partners such as ABB, DÜRR, FANUC, SIEMENS... The entire production process strictly complies with international standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and IATF 16949 (International Automotive Quality Management System).
In the first phase, the factory has a designed capacity of about 200,000 vehicles/year, equivalent to an average production speed of 35 vehicles per hour. In the future, the factory will continue to expand to increase capacity to meet market demand.
In the first phase, to optimize the production line, VinFast Ha Tinh factory will focus on producing small urban electric vehicles such as VF3, Minio Green, EC Van and some new models in the development roadmap. Products from VinFast Ha Tinh factory will not only serve the domestic market but also aim to export to international markets.
The factory is expected to create about 6,000 direct jobs in the first phase and can expand its workforce to 15,000 people in the future, contributing to job creation and promoting social security in the locality. At the same time, the presence of VinFast Ha Tinh also creates motivation to attract partner businesses to build factories in the industrial park, forming a synchronous supply chain, aiming to increase the localization rate of electric cars to over 80% by 2026.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province congratulated and highly appreciated the role and contribution of VinFast Ha Tinh factory to the development and socio-economic stability of the locality. "The inauguration ceremony of VinFast electric car factory today has affirmed the strategic vision of Vingroup Corporation in developing the smart electric car brand in particular and the maturity of Vietnamese enterprises in general in the era of green industry and digital transformation. This is not only a miracle in terms of progress, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of "think big - act fast - act truly", demonstrating the high determination of Vingroup Corporation", the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province affirmed.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup said: “The inauguration of VinFast Ha Tinh factory is an important milestone in VinFast's long-term development strategy and global production expansion. When put into operation, VinFast Ha Tinh factory will contribute to VinFast's goal of producing 1 million vehicles per year to meet the increasing demand of domestic and foreign markets. This is also a clear demonstration of VinFast's ability to master technology, self-manufacture and pioneering vision in promoting sustainable transportation trends in Vietnam and around the world".
In the first 5 months of 2025, VinFast is the car brand with the largest market share in Vietnam, with more than 56,000 cars sold, of which the three models VF 3, VF 5 and VF 6 are the best-selling products on the market. VinFast electric cars are also popular with consumers in many international markets such as the Philippines, Indonesia, etc.
Currently, VinFast has 5 factories being deployed in Vietnam, the US, India and Indonesia. In addition to the 2 factories in Vietnam, VinFast Hai Phong and VinFast Ha Tinh, which have been put into operation, it is expected that two factories in India and Indonesia will soon be inaugurated and put into operation to meet the demand in strategic international markets.
