At the provincial bridge, there were comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , to combat IUU fishing and remove the EC's "yellow card", the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee on Combating IUU Fishing have assigned specific contents, tasks, completion time, and results to each relevant ministry, sector, and locality for implementation. After 3 inspections by the EC, the results of the implementation of combating IUU fishing have changed; however, there are still tasks that are slow to be completed according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

Comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the conference at the provincial bridge.

Through assessing the situation, analyzing the causes, pointing out lessons learned, setting out goals and tasks for the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that localities as well as relevant ministries and branches need to carefully and accurately assess the situation, continue to make efforts to drastically implement the synchronous solutions that have been and are being implemented; at the same time, prepare to create conditions and serve the EC Inspection Delegation well in the spirit of modesty, openness, listening, reporting objectively, honestly and constructively.

The Prime Minister said that whether the EC has removed the IUU “yellow card” or not, we still have to do it out of responsibility to the people, the country, the environment, and international obligations. We have to create livelihoods for people, change jobs, protect the marine environment, increase aquaculture and seafood processing, reduce fishing, raise people’s awareness in law enforcement and environmental protection, strengthen inspection and supervision by authorities, and comply with the laws according to our country’s and international regulations.
