Nguyen Hoang Duc is currently considered the number 1 central midfielder in Vietnam, twice winning the Vietnam Golden Ball with an intelligent, technical, emotional playing style but increasingly improving in terms of competition and physical strength.
Few people know that Hoang Duc almost had to give up his dream of becoming a football player at the age of 16, when his name was on the elimination list of The Cong Viettel Club in 2014, even clinging to the opportunity thanks to training sessions with the U.15 team.

Hoang Duc's future is a hot topic as his contract with The Cong Viettel Club will expire after the 2023-2024 season, especially with the news that Hoang Duc has just gone to Thailand and visited 3 strong clubs in the Thai League.

Hoang Duc said: "My contract with Viettel The Cong Club is still valid, in the coming time I will work with the parent club. Personally, I still want to try my hand abroad. If the opportunity does not come, I will regret it and feel unlucky.
In general, for Southeast Asian players, the most suitable Asian environment is Japan or Korea. In particular, physical strength and language are extremely important. I really admire those who have bravely gone abroad such as Van Toan, Xuan Truong, Cong Phuong...
They dared to break out of their comfort zone to understand their own capabilities. Maybe they had failures in that environment, maybe before they felt that things were going well in Vietnam, but when they moved to a better environment with higher competition, they would know what they were lacking to make up for.
Two years ago, I was at my most eager, energetic and thirsty to go abroad and experience as much as possible. It is a disadvantage for Vietnamese football players to go abroad later. If they go at the age of 22-24, it would be the best."
