However, during the implementation process, thanks to closely following reality, the Central Steering Committee decided to shorten the time, striving to complete before August 31, 2025, right on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
As a result, after 1 year and 4 months of implementation, Vietnam has basically completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, reaching the target 5 years and 4 months ahead of schedule. The whole country has eliminated 334,234 houses with a total cost of nearly 50,000 billion VND, of which the State supported more than 24,000 billion VND, the rest mobilized from ministries, branches, localities, enterprises and people. Localities nationwide have mobilized more than 2.7 million working days with over 454,000 participants.
For Thai Nguyen province, the whole province has 6,953 households eligible for support. Of which, 1,974 households in the southern communes and wards have completed their projects 8 months ahead of schedule, while 1,072 households in the northern communes and wards of the province have not yet started construction as of June 30, 2025.
Despite many difficulties, with the determination to reach the finish line on schedule assigned by the Government, the Provincial Steering Committee has focused on leading and directing the work of reviewing, mobilizing resources and organizing the implementation of solutions to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.
Up to now, 100% of households have completed repairs and new construction, exceeding the progress assigned by the Government. In addition, with the highest determination of the entire political system, the consensus and joint efforts of businesses and people in the area, Thai Nguyen province has so far supported funding to build 453 additional houses outside the approved list, reaching 106.5% of the plan.
