Completed ahead of schedule, total resources of nearly 600 billion VND
According to Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang, the locality has completed the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of the national plan, with a total implementation cost of more than 600 billion VND.
Specifically, Ca Mau province has completed the support for new construction and repair of 9,594 houses. Of which, 7,004 houses were newly built; 2,590 houses were repaired, with a total implementation cost of 599,377 million VND.
Support policies are implemented synchronously: 60 million VND/newly built house, 30 million VND/repaired house, along with 5 million VND/household from social mobilization sources to build hygienic toilets.
In particular, for households without land, the locality has proactively reviewed and mobilized families and relatives to donate land or lend land for house building with a commitment to use it for 20 years or more, while arranging public land funds and resettlement areas. Thanks to that, 272 households with difficulties in land have been resolved.
Not only stopping at the budget source, localities have joined hands to support each other with a total amount of 480 million VND. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province connected with donors, union members, police forces, army... to contribute 14,987 working days, with 8,082 participants.
To reduce financial pressure, communes coordinate with construction material stores to allow deferred payment, no interest, and even advance commune funds to speed up progress.
To ensure progress, the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses has organized over 50 inspections and supervisions, while the district and commune levels have conducted over 200 supervisions to promptly remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for people.

Spread the spirit of "leaving no one behind"
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang assessed that this success came from the close attention and direction of the Central Government, the consensus of the entire population, and the spirit of mutual love of Ca Mau people.
"The Party Committee, government and people in the province are highly unified, identifying this as an important political task associated with sustainable development, with the goal of leaving no one behind," Mr. Thang emphasized.
The province also acknowledged the great contributions from benefactors inside and outside the province, helping the program to be completed earlier than expected, bringing safe and solid homes to thousands of poor households.
Lessons from a humanities program
From the good results of this Program, the leaders of Ca Mau province have drawn many experiences from this program.
That is, there must be high unity in awareness, responsibility and action throughout the political system, first of all at the Party Committee and government levels; strengthen coordination between levels, close to each household to have appropriate solutions; proactively inspect, supervise, and promptly commend collectives and individuals who actively support.
In particular, promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations, with the spirit of "everyone contributes", strongly promoting the socialization movement.
For households that have received support but do not have land to live on, it is necessary to thoroughly resolve the issue by mobilizing families, communities, businesses and philanthropists. At the same time, strengthen financial management, disburse promptly and transparently, and avoid negativity.
Propaganda work continues to be a highlight to spread the sense of responsibility and exemplary behavior of cadres and party members, especially leaders in mobilizing social resources.
Thanks to creative approaches, Ca Mau not only completed the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule, but also became a bright spot in social security policies, affirming the locality's determination in the process of sustainable development.
