On an early afternoon in mid-August 2025, Mr. Pham Van Khan's house (Khuong My village, Hoa Vang commune) was bustling with the footsteps of members of the City Police Women's Association coming to visit and hand over the new house.

Mr. Khan is a policy beneficiary and has difficult circumstances. The whole family is living in a dilapidated house that is not safe during the upcoming storm season.

After receiving information from the locality, the City Police Women's Union supported 80 million VND to build a new house. The local government and associations and organizations contributed an additional 20 working days. After more than 4 months of construction, the house was completed, with an area of nearly 70 square meters, meeting the "3 hard" criteria.

Receiving the new house, Mr. Khan happily shared: “My family would like to express our deep gratitude to the police force and local authorities for their concern and helping me have a solid home to live and work with peace of mind. The house is not only a place to live but also a great source of encouragement for families with many difficulties like us.”

The representative of the Women's Union of the City Police said that the "August 19th House" project is a meaningful and practical activity to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Police (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). Thereby, it shows the affection and responsibility of the officers and members of the Women's Union of the Police in particular, and the City Police force in general, for families with meritorious services and disadvantaged people in the city.

Also in Hoa Vang commune, the City Police have just supported the construction of the "August 19 House" for the family of Ms. Huynh Thi Nhan (born in 1931, Cam Toai Trung village).

Mrs. Nhan is old, unable to work, lives alone, and is worshiping martyrs. The house Mrs. Nhan built a long time ago is now seriously degraded.

Upon receiving information from the locality, the City Police Youth Union mobilized officers, soldiers, and youth union members to support 100 million VND; at the same time, directly surveyed, designed, contributed working days, and supervised the construction, ensuring construction quality.

After nearly two months of active construction, the house was completed in time for the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day. The new house has a usable area of 80 square meters, including a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen and ancillary works.

Looking at the spacious new house, Mrs. Nhan could not hide her joy. “I did not think that at my old age I would be able to live in such a spacious and solid house. It is all thanks to the help and companionship of the officers and soldiers of the city police and the local government. From now on, when it rains and storms, I no longer worry,” Mrs. Nhan confided.

A representative of the City Police Youth Union said that in response to the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in the city, the Youth Union mobilized youth union members to contribute funds to build two "August 19th Houses" for families with preferential policies, poor households, and disadvantaged households. Thereby, it contributes to strengthening the bond between the police force and the people, multiplying the joy and meaning on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Vietnam People's Police force.

In mountainous communes of the former Quang Nam province, the police force coordinated with the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) Quang Nam branch to support the construction of 50 new houses for poor and disadvantaged households, with a total value of 5 billion VND.

Not only providing financial support, the City Police Youth Union established a youth volunteer team, mobilizing nearly 1,300 union members and youths to contribute more than 3,000 working days to support households in dismantling, transporting materials, and supporting construction. Thanks to that, it helps households save money and speed up the completion of the project.

After a period of active implementation, up to now, the basic works have been completed and handed over on time for people to use, stabilize their lives, and contribute to joining hands with authorities at all levels to take care of social security for the people.
