Attending the conference were members of the Politburo , members of the Party Central Committee and leaders of ministries and branches. At Hung Yen, the conference was attended by comrades: Nguyen Huu Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Under the close direction of the Party and State leaders, the determination of the Prime Minister , along with the innovative thinking and creative ways of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the synchronous participation of the entire political system, after more than 1 year of implementation, Vietnam has basically completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, reaching the finish line 5 years ahead of Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW and 4 months ahead of the launch plan. Of which, the whole country has supported the elimination of 334,234 temporary, dilapidated and unsafe houses (including 255,310 newly built houses and 78,924 repaired houses) with a total cost of nearly 50,000 billion VND.
According to the assessment of the Central Steering Committee, many localities have shown a proactive and creative spirit in mobilizing resources to implement the program. In total, localities and central agencies have mobilized nearly VND 25,000 billion and about 2.739 million working days to build and repair houses nationwide.
In Hung Yen province, implementing the direction of the Government and the guidance of the central ministries and branches, the province launched the Emulation Movement and received positive responses from all levels, branches, businesses and philanthropists. Thanks to that, together with resources from the state budget and socialized sources, by June 30, 2025, Hung Yen had completed the support for the construction of 2,560 new houses and the repair of 1,814 temporary and dilapidated houses, with a total cost of 346.7 billion VND. Hung Yen is one of the localities with a higher level of support for housing construction and repair than the national average.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding efforts of all levels, sectors, and localities, along with the practical contributions from the business community and philanthropists in creating resources to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, households in difficult circumstances, and people with meritorious services.
The Prime Minister requested the Central Steering Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Emulation and Reward Committee and localities to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW. In particular, focusing on supporting housing for people with meritorious services, poor and near-poor households, people in disaster areas, and those affected by climate change; promptly supporting risky cases, helping people stabilize their lives; and at the same time implementing policies to create sustainable jobs, associated with social security programs. The Prime Minister also emphasized the need to continue to innovate and improve the quality of emulation movements associated with social security tasks; the Vietnam Fatherland Front regularly listens to and grasps the thoughts and aspirations of the people to make timely recommendations, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people. The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security are assigned to promote the role of the armed forces, both protecting national sovereignty and security and serving as a fulcrum for socio-economic development, especially in border areas, islands, remote and isolated areas.
At the conference, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate dilapidated houses" were honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
