Tho Xuan Commune focuses forces on handling the incident of dike collapse

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Due to the impact of storm No. 5, heavy rain, and rising water levels of the Chu River, the dike roof collapsed at K16+700 to K24+142, through Le Nghia 2 village, Tho Xuan commune, with a length of about 30 meters.

As soon as the incident was discovered, on the morning of August 26, 2025, Tho Xuan commune urgently mobilized on-site forces, vehicles, and materials to deploy emergency remedial measures.

Under the direct direction of the Commune Civil Defense Command, along with the timely and effective support and coordination of the Defense Command of Area 1 - Trieu Son, the incident handling work was carried out synchronously and urgently.

Remedial measures taken include: Covering the entire area of ​​the collapsed dike with tarpaulin, driving fixed bamboo stakes and stacking soil sacks to stabilize the dike, minimizing the risk of widespread landslides, ensuring the safety of the construction and the safety of people's lives and property.

Currently, the basic repair work has been initially completed, contributing to ensuring the stability of the dike. The Tho Xuan Commune Civil Defense Command continues to assign forces to be on duty 24/7, closely monitor weather developments, and regularly check the situation of the dikes to promptly handle any arising situations.
