Evaluating the players, coach Okiyama Masahiko said: “The players and coaching staff are still working hard, trying to practice according to the plan I have set out. The whole team is gradually adapting to the playing style being built and is becoming more united and united in both daily life and practice.”
Officially training from July 23 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnam U16 women's team only has 10 days left to prepare before entering the first match at the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, taking place in Indonesia.
In the final stage of preparation, Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his assistants continued to perfect the squad through 3 practice matches with the Phong Phu Ha Nam U19 women's team, Zantino Vinh Phuc U19 women's team and Thai Nguyen T&T U19 women's team at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
In the previous week, the Vietnamese U16 women's team also had 2 practice matches in Vinh Phuc and Thai Nguyen and won 2-0 against the U19 women's team Zantino Vinh Phuc and won 4-2 against the U19 women's team Thai Nguyen T&T.
According to the plan, after the 4th week of training, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will leave for Indonesia to compete. At the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, the Vietnamese players are in Group B with two opponents, Cambodia and Myanmar. The two group matches will take place on August 21 and August 25.
Under the dedicated guidance of Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his assistants, the Vietnam U16 women's team is gradually improving and enhancing their skills, physical strength and competitive spirit. The goal is not only to win the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship but also to build a solid foundation for future generations of players.
