Right from the first minutes, the Thai girls showed their sharpness. In the 6th minute, Kawinphida Kikuntod took advantage of the opportunity to kick the ball accurately, opening the score 1-0 for the team from the Golden Temple. However, just 10 minutes later, the U16 women's team of Vietnam responded. From a cross from the left wing, Suracha of Thailand, in an attempt to clear the ball, accidentally headed the ball into his own net, helping the Vietnamese team tie the score 1-1.

The match then took place at a high speed, with both teams constantly exchanging blows. But the turning point came in the final minutes of the first half. In the 42nd minute, Peeranphan La-ongta used his speed to break away, finishing delicately, raising the score to 2-1 for Thailand U16. It did not stop there, in the second minute of injury time of the first half, Charlotte Vallari fired an accurate shot, securing a 3-1 advantage for the defending champions.

In the second half, the U16 women's team of Vietnam pressed forward to attack in search of an equalizer. In the 65th minute, Nguyen Thi Minh Anh had a clear chance when she broke through to face the Thai goalkeeper, but her shot was slow and was blocked. In the remaining minutes, despite diligently pressing and attacking, the students of coach Okiyama Masahiko were still unable to penetrate the disciplined and solid defense of the opponent.

At the end of 90 minutes, the Thai U16 women's team won 3-1, thereby winning a ticket to the final. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese U16 women's team played bravely, creating many bright spots, but had to close the championship goal. This match also showed the remarkable progress of the young Vietnamese players when they fought tenaciously against an experienced and brave opponent.

The Vietnam U16 women's team will compete for third place in the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship on August 29.
