After months of struggling with the unstable developments of the world energy market, domestic gas prices continued to cool down in July 2025 - bringing a positive signal to both households and businesses.

This price reduction not only helps consumers save on living expenses, but also opens up opportunities to reduce operating pressure for industries that depend on gas such as food services, manufacturing and accommodation. This is considered one of the rare bright spots in the current price picture that is still very volatile.

July 2025: Domestic gas prices continue to cool down

According to the latest announcement from Petrolimex Gas Corporation, domestic retail gas prices in July continued to be adjusted down compared to the previous month. Specifically, in the Hanoi market, the price of 12 kg household gas cylinders is currently listed at 434,200 VND/cylinder (including VAT), down 18,600 VND compared to June. For 48 kg industrial cylinders, the selling price is 1,736,700 VND/cylinder, also down 74,400 VND per cylinder.

This is the second consecutive price reduction this year, following a slight adjustment in June. Thus, since the beginning of 2025, gas prices have had a total of 4 price reductions and 3 price increases, with no recorded increases. This partly reflects the favorable developments of the global energy market, especially when world gas prices are showing a steady downward trend after a prolonged period of high prices in 2023 and early 2024.

Gas price July 2025 Good news for consumers
Domestic gas prices fell for the second consecutive month.

A representative of Petrolimex Gas Corporation said that the main reason for this price adjustment comes from the fact that the average world gas import price in July 2025 was fixed at 560 USD/ton, down 25 USD/ton compared to 585 USD/ton in June. This is not a very large decrease, but enough to create room for businesses to adjust domestic retail prices to accurately reflect global market developments.

In the world market, gas prices have recently been under pressure from increased supply in the Middle East, while demand in Asian countries has not increased sharply due to less severe weather. At the same time, the European market no longer has a large demand for reserves like last year, because gas inventories have reached a safe level before winter.

According to energy experts, the downward trend in world gas prices, although not strong, shows the return of stability to the global supply and transportation chain, especially in the context of geopolitical tensions in many regions that have somewhat eased.

Positive signals to people and businesses

In the context of living costs and consumer prices remaining high in many areas across the country, the continued decrease in gas prices in July is considered a positive sign. With a decrease of nearly 19,000 VND/12 kg household gas tank, each average household can save tens of thousands of VND per month - not a large number, but bringing significant relief in the still difficult economic conditions after the pandemic.

In addition, businesses, especially in the food processing, restaurant, hotel or small-scale manufacturing sectors, also benefit when lower gas prices help reduce operating costs. Industries that use gas as a production fuel will have more room to balance cash flow and invest in business expansion and market development activities.

Gas price July 2025 Good news for consumers
Gas prices are expected to remain stable in the coming time.

According to forecasts from energy analysts, if the world's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply continues to be abundant, the price of imported gas to Vietnam may remain stable in the coming months. However, it should be noted that gas prices are strongly influenced by factors such as weather, crude oil prices and the global geopolitical situation, especially in major exporting countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia or Russia.

In the domestic market, gas price adjustments also depend on the USD/VND exchange rate and import tax policies, as this is a commodity mainly imported from abroad. If there are no unexpected changes in tax or transportation policies, gas prices in August are likely to remain stable or continue to be slightly adjusted.

The continued decrease in gas prices in July 2025 is not only a positive economic signal but also contributes to stabilizing consumer sentiment. In the context that the income of many households is still affected after the pandemic and inflationary pressure has not completely subsided, timely adjustments from gas distribution enterprises will help reduce the burden of spending, thereby contributing to promoting domestic consumption and economic recovery.

Although not the most consumed commodity, gas prices have a profound impact on millions of households and small businesses. Closely monitoring monthly gas price movements will help consumers proactively adjust their spending plans and find reasonable savings options.
