Coffee price today May 7, 2025: Slight increase again

Vietnam's coffee exports in June achieved impressive results with 123,623 tons of coffee exported, worth 716.74 million USD. According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), this figure increased sharply by 63.7% in volume and skyrocketed by 103.8% in value compared to the same period last year.

The average export price is 5,220 USD/ton, of which Robusta coffee alone is priced at 5,083 USD/ton. In the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 995,000 tons of coffee with a turnover of over 5.5 billion USD. Surpassing the export value of the whole year 2024, which was considered a record year with 5.48 billion USD.

However, the coffee market is facing potential challenges. Pressure from a large harvest in Brazil combined with a strong US dollar are creating the risk that coffee prices could fall further in the coming period.

On the positive side, coffee consumption in Europe and the US is recovering, which could support stable coffee prices in the medium term. This recovery brings hope to Vietnamese coffee exporters.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market fluctuate on two exchanges:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery September 2025: Up 28 USD/ton, to 3,655 USD/ton.

November 2025 delivery: Up 22 USD/ton, to 3,591 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

September 2025 delivery: Down 1.6 cents/lb, to 289.6 cents/lb.

December 2025 delivery: Down 1.2 cents/lb, up 284.15 cents/lb.

The global coffee market is in turmoil as major coffee prices continue to hit new lows. September arabica coffee prices have also fallen to their lowest level since they were listed, while the latest July contract has also fallen to its lowest level in 7.5 months.

Robusta coffee prices have also been hit hard, with September futures hitting a 1-1/2-year low last week, but the coffee has received some support from inventory developments as supplies have tightened.

Global coffee supplies are tightening due to a multi-year production deficit. The main cause is believed to be extreme weather that has severely affected key production areas around the world, creating pressure to push up coffee prices in recent times.
