Coffee price today June 28, 2025: Strong increase again

In the long term, coffee prices are expected to continue to fall due to pressure from increasing supply. According to Mr. Trinh Duc Minh, Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, each 'wave' of increasing coffee prices usually only lasts about 4 to 5 years, after which the market will enter a period of adjustment. Currently, many coffee-producing countries are planning to expand their acreage and increase production.

Over the past two years, the sharp increase in coffee prices has prompted many households to replant and expand their planting areas. In Buon Ma Thuot, the average annual coffee growing area is about 4,000 hectares, but this year it may increase to 5,000 hectares. These new areas will begin to yield in the next few years, contributing to a significant increase in coffee supply.

However, Mr. Minh also believes that coffee prices are unlikely to fall as deeply as they did during the previous crisis. The previous price of 30,000 - 40,000 VND/kg will be difficult to repeat, because input costs have now increased significantly. Therefore, although prices may fall in the near future, the bottom of this cycle will be higher than previous declines.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market decreased slightly on two floors:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery September 2025: Down 40 USD/ton, to 3,625 USD/ton.

November 2025 delivery: Down 37 USD/ton, to 3,558 USD/ton.

According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Brazil is expected to maintain a slight increase in production in the 2025/2026 crop year, which runs from July 2025 to June 2026. Production is forecast to reach about 65 million 60-kg bags, up 0.5% from the previous crop.

The USDA said the increase in production was mainly due to robusta. With favorable weather conditions in key growing regions, robusta is forecast to reach 24.1 million bags, up 15% from the previous season.

In Asia, Indonesia is also showing great ambition by setting a goal of surpassing Vietnam to become the world's second largest coffee producer. The government of this country is actively implementing policies to support production and take advantage of the trend of increasing global coffee consumption demand.

In addition, Brazil remains the most formidable competitor in the international market. This country not only possesses abundant resources and land, but also has a systematic and efficient production system, helping them maintain their leading position and continue to expand production in the future.
