According to information from the Department of Registration, Ford Vietnam issued a recall notice for 178 Ford Explorer vehicles due to errors in the 360-degree camera and image processing module B (IPMB) software.
On affected Explorers, occasionally when backing up or when selecting 360-degree view (the vehicle is operating at low speeds), the user may see a blue streak or a full blue/black screen for the rear camera on the infotainment screen (SYNC). This will persist while the vehicle is running and may recur during subsequent ignition on/off cycles.

Ford said that to handle the above situation, it is necessary to update the image processing module B (IPMB) software on affected vehicles; at the same time, recalibrate the 360-degree camera.
The affected vehicles were imported by Ford Vietnam, manufactured between January 20, 2019 and July 25, 2023.

Ford Vietnam recommends that for their own safety, users should quickly bring their vehicles to dealers to fix the error. This recall program will take place from now until May 12, 2030. The time to fix the error for each vehicle is about more than 1 hour.
