Nearly 16,000 workers and equipment to construct Long Thanh airport

(QNgTV)- Vietnam Airports Corporation said that currently at the Long Thanh airport construction site, contractors are mobilizing nearly 16,000 workers and equipment to deploy hundreds of construction teams day and night. The project's progress is being accelerated, ensuring the airport is basically completed by the end of 2025 and put into commercial operation in mid-2026 as required by the Prime Minister.

Component project 3 - essential works at Long Thanh airport has an investment capital of nearly 100 trillion VND, including 14 packages. To date, 3 packages have been completed, 9 packages are under construction, and the remaining 2 packages are about to select contractors.

For the passenger terminal, the contractor mobilized nearly 5,500 workers and equipment to carry out the construction. Currently, the terminal has completed the reinforced concrete structure, the rough construction has reached nearly 80% and is completing the ceiling and installing aluminum frame glass walls. Regarding aviation equipment for the terminal, the partners committed to providing all equipment this year, shortening the contract by 5 to 8 months.

For packages such as aircraft parking lots, internal port traffic, and parking lots, the joint venture mobilized thousands of workers and equipment to construct ground structures, tunnels, viaducts, and drainage systems.
