
This is the first continental youth championship organized by the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association, recognized by the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA). The Vietnamese delegation participated with 8 members: 3 coaches - 4 athletes led by Ms. Tong Thi Ngoc Hoa, Deputy Secretary General and Chief of Office of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation.
This tournament continues to be held in two formats: modern MMA (using sportswear ) and traditional MMA (using martial arts uniforms - gi). The participating athletes include: Nguyen Dinh Huy (65kg men's traditional MMA); Lang Quoc Cuong (55kg men's), Vuong Tri Hai (50kg men's) and Trieu Thu Thuy (45kg women's) MMA in modern MMA. According to Ms. Tong Thi Ngoc Hoa, the Vietnamese athletes aim to win at least 1 medal in the first time the tournament is held.
The Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation has participated in the activities of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association since its inception. In 2023, at the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship, the Vietnamese delegation sent 4 athletes to compete and all won medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze), ranking 4th overall out of 19 participating countries and territories.
The 2025 Asian Mixed Martial Arts Youth Championship is part of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association's regional MMA development program. Along with this tournament, AMMA also organized a mixed martial arts referee and coach development program from August 25 to 27. The Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation sent 2 coaches and 2 referees to participate with the goal of improving professional skills and integrating with international and regional trends.
