Union Meal Spreads Unity and Care

The Union Meal organized by the City Labor Federation based on the initiative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor received high reception from union members and workers.

The meals not only connect workers but also show the affection and thoughtful care of Da Nang Trade Union for union members and workers.

Meals filled with laughter

On the occasion of the founding day of the Vietnam Trade Union on July 28, in the canteen of Chin Huei Plastic Industry Joint Stock Company (Hoa Khanh Industrial Park), the atmosphere was "heated up" by the cheerful laughter of union members and workers. It was a bustling atmosphere when workers enjoyed the Trade Union Meal organized by the City Labor Federation in coordination with the company.

From the union’s financial resources, the City Labor Federation supports each meal with an additional 30,000 VND. The workers’ meals are thus supplemented with many dishes such as chicken with vegetables, fruit for dessert, yogurt, etc.

Together with Chairman of the Trade Union of Chin Huei Plastic Industry Joint Stock Company Luu Dien Hiep, Vice Chairman of the City Labor Federation Ho Thi Lan Huong visited the tables to visit and encourage the workers as well as listen to their conversations, grasp their thoughts and aspirations. For nearly 400 workers of Chin Huei Plastic Industry Joint Stock Company, the lunch on July 28 was a nutritious, memorable and joyful meal.

At noon on July 29, more than 900 workers of Celebrity Fashion Vina Co., Ltd. (Tam Thang Industrial Park) received a more special meal than usual. According to the workers, when they saw Vice President of the City Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and the blue-shirted union officials along with the company's leaders and the company's union executive committee attending the meal with the workers, everyone was excited.

Because the attention and care of the union and company leaders made the workers feel like they were at the center of meaningful activities. That lunch became more special, an opportunity for workers, union organizations and business leaders to share and listen to their thoughts and aspirations, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding.

Not only providing financial support and being present to encourage, the Union Meal program also includes the activity of giving gifts to support workers in difficult circumstances. Receiving the gift from Chairman of Ngu Hanh Son Ward Union Nguyen Van Minh, a member of Sunrise Luxury Resort Villa Company Limited emotionally shared that it was the most meaningful lunch because not only did he have a nutritious and delicious meal but he also received the attention and material gifts from the union organization.

The Union Meal Program is truly humane, and workers greatly appreciate the care of the union.

Towards non-state sector workers

The Trade Union Meal was initiated and widely organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor throughout the trade union system on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025).

In Da Nang city, the program lasted longer than planned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Accordingly, the city's Labor Confederation supported 10 grassroots unions to organize Union Meals with an added value of 30,000 VND/meal for each daily meal of workers.

Nearly 7,800 workers benefited from the Union Meal from the City Union's financial resources, with a total budget of nearly 234 million VND. The program will be held in July and August 2025.

According to Phan Thi Thuy Linh, President of the City Labor Federation, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has implemented the policy of consolidating, arranging, and perfecting the organization of the trade union. Thereby, ensuring streamlining, improving the quality and efficiency of operations; strongly orienting activities towards the grassroots, increasing resources and human resources for grassroots activities, and bonding with union members.

Having completed the arrangement, the City Labor Federation is now focusing all resources on taking care of and organizing activities in non-state units, to affirm the role and function of the trade union organization as well as to enhance the stature of the organization in the new situation.

Organizing the Trade Union Meal is one of the first activities aimed at workers in the non-state sector after the implementation of the arrangement work of the City Labor Federation.

Not just a simple meal, the program has strongly spread the message of love, practical care and spirit of companionship with workers and laborers of the City Labor Federation. Thereby, affirming the responsibility and concern of the trade union organization in taking care of the lives of union members and laborers.

According to the Union Meals at SGI Vina Co., Ltd., UAC Vietnam Co., Ltd., Dong Phuong Co., Ltd., along with the joy when the meal portion was increased, the workers said that the greatest value of the program is the presence, listening, and understanding of the union organization and the employer.

Thanks to the Union Meal, workers can feel more clearly the concern from the union and business leaders, thereby becoming more attached to and loving their working environment.
